This is my formal notification...

Due to my husband’s military PCS orders, we are moving out of the state. This is my formal notification that I am resigning from Washington Elementary School, USD *** as a paraprofessional. Friday, December 11, 2009 will be my last day of employment.

How does that sound? I've never had to write a resignation letter before. I actually had to look one up online. It's made everything far more real though. I cannot believe I get to quit my job. Out of EVERYTHING that this move means, that it my favorite part. Not that I didn't like my job. (Most of) the people were great. The kids were very cool. I learned a lot about schools in general. And about myself. But it just wasn't for me. I really need to use my degree. I need to feel like I'm helping people. Maybe Colorado Springs will have the perfect job for me!

I think it sounds great! It's hard to write a letter like that. But it is for a good reason :)

I get to turn it in today. Hah! The principal is the "boss" of the school. And she hates me. Actually smiled when I told her I was leaving. And then decided that she didnt believe me and I would need to give her Joe's orders too. What rubbish! So I called the school district. They totally understand this is a military town and couldnt care less if I give them orders with my letter.

Perfect!!! And I'm so glad the school district doesn't care. Military towns understand military orders!
