We spent 4 nights in a Days Inn when we got here. We were there over Christmas. It was kinda hard for me. But Joe knows I'm nuts and made everything all better again.
I'm really excited to get out and explore this town. It's so much fun to live in a REAL town again. No offence, but Junction City is a small shanty compared to this place. I missed my college town, Fayetteville, AR, because it was a real town. I think going through a deployment here will be less depressing. There is so much to do, as long as I have the right attitude, I can keep myself busy for a year.
I will try to post pics to my facebook account as soon as we get internet (which might be a little bit since our routers are in the household goods and they aren't being delivered until January 6th!!). So we're making a go of it until our stuff gets to us. There has GOT to be a better solution than an air mattress! (Any ideas?) But other than that (and the ONE television and FOUR gaming consoles situation), we're having a great time.
I hope everyone had a great holiday!!

woohoo !!! So glad you guys are here!! : )
Very nice you are liking your new place :) It is a great feeling to be almost done with the whole PCS process. I am about to start...lol.
Welcome!!! :) Hope you enjoy it. Hey just a head's up for when your lease is nearing a close you can find lots of great home for rent around post. A lot of ppl are unable to sell as they PCS (as you could imagine) and choose to rent. A futon may be a better option than the air mattress! Also, American Family Furniture (off I-25 and Filmore) is amazing... it has awesome prices and a huge selection.
