Rigel, please come to bed.

Joe had CQ last night. Completely retarded, shouldnt have happened, couldnt have been fucking random CQ, but anyway... he came home at 4am this morning.

Rigel always comes to bed with me. He sunggles under the covers as I read and eventually fall asleep. All is right with the world. But when Joe's not here, he acts totally different. He doesnt want to even go in the bedroom. He sits on the edge of the bed so he can see the front door. And he doesnt budge until Joe comes home. That means that at 4am I got my cuddly pup back. Joe was home. All was right with the world.

So what about this deployment? Rigel will wait up for Joe. And he wont come home. I'm sure he will eventually stop waiting for his Joe and come to sleep. And it will break my heart. It's bad enough that I will be missing my husband like crazy, but even our 3 year old yorkie knows something isnt right, that someone important is missing.

When my husband left, my german shepherd puppy sat by the front door for days!

Awwww poor puppy! Our dogs went throught the same thing. Especially Stonewall's dog, Sarge. He would just sit by the door...waiting... Everntually he got used to the fact that Stonewall wasn't coming home that night and he stopped waiting. I thought he tail was going to propell him into the air though when Stonewall finally did come home :)
