4 months DOWN!!!!

DAY 123

I cant believe Joe has been deployed 4 months today. The time seems to pass so quickly. The last month has been pretty good. Working a lot more. Skype has been a huge lifesaver. I've been able to stay up late and talk to Joe, see his wonderful face and hear his voice. I know I am very lucky. But I don't know how women only a decade ago went without the awesome communication we have today. We are amazingly lucky. Joe's DFAC is getting better. The mail is starting to be less shady. There's a rumor that they get to move to CHUs soon, instead of the awesomely horrible tents they are in now. Fingers crossed for CHUs!!! I kinda have my doubts though. Nothing they are promised seems to come through. Such is probably the theme of most deployments though. And Joe dropped his R&R packet 2 days ago. He should know within the week when he gets to come home. I get these weird butterflies in my tummy just thinking about it! I am so excited and nervous all at the same time. He's just stoked!! We have a list of things he wants to do and eat. And his mom bought him a really nice bottle of port for his birthday yesterday that he cant wait to get home to.

My family was here this week. We did so much! I had a blast, I think my family did too. We went to

the Garden of the Gods,

the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo (I pet a giraffe!),

Canon City (we found out we are nerdy rock people),

the Royal Gorge Bridge (my parents were terrified!),

the Winery at Holy Cross Abbey (delicious!),

the Summit of Pike's Peak (so freaking awesome!!! but super high!!),

the Cliff Dwellings in Manitou Springs,

and the Melting Pot (yes, which counts as an outing, it was a lot of fun).

There are pics of most of those things on my Facebook, so if you're a friend, swing by and check them out. :)
