This award was given to me by Expat Girl over at The Sand is Different Here. Thank you so much!!
The rules for this award are:
One: Tell us about a memorable hug you’ve had. It can be a person, pet, whatever…
Two: “Hug” at least one other blogger or as many as you like.
Hugs? Hugs? Hugs? Being a part of the crazy Army wive life, hugs play a big part of my life. I always hug my family before I leave, not really knowing when I will see them again. Hugging my dad is always memorable. He's a big guy, 6''7", and he always holds me so tight. I want to cry just thinking about it.
But I hug I will remember until the end of my days, is the first hug Joe gave me when he came back from Germany in January. We had lost touch for a few years. Joe joined the Army and PCSed to Germany. We found each other online and became good friends again. We knew that we belonged together. But, there was a death in Joe's family and he had to come back to the states for the funeral. He came to my parents' house to pick me up. It had been years since I had seen Joe, let alone hugged him. And he walked inside and automatically hugged me like we had been together all along. Only a few days later, Joe proposed to me. :)
Joe of course had to go back to Germany for the remainder of his time there. But he flew back in that July for our wedding. I picked him up at the airport. We were so busy hugging and talking that we almost forgot to pick up his luggage.
And after the wedding, of course had to go back to Germany. But that December we had another great reunion. It was the beginning of my new life. I took my last college final that afternoon. Then ran to the aiport to pick up my *husband* for the first time so we could start our PCS to Kansas. His mom was with me. I watched him make his way through the crowds and find me. We sat in the back of her car together on the hour ride home just attached to each other.
And now... Joe is in Iraq. I get so excited thinking about being able to hug him once again!!
